Alonso Wins In Monaco, Hamilton A Close Second.

Alonso won in Monaco yesterday in what was a pretty tame race; such is the way on a track that is to small for today’s F1 cars. It is clear that this race is purely for the sponsors and if they were to suggest this track as a new race in these modern times it would not pass the safety test at all. But either way it is still nice to watch it every year.

I did not like Saturdays qualifying when both McLaren cars were on their last laps and Alonso was down on his pole time but Hamilton was on his way to snatching pole back and all of a sudden the team shut it down. Lewis was green through the first section on a legitimate lap and then backed off all of a sudden. It is clear that they wanted Alonso in the front slot as they are paying him waaaaaayyy more than Lewis and it makes good press.

I say Lewis will win in Montreal in a fortnight’s time; he is much better than Alonso and has more stamina to go the entire race distance full on, whereas Alonso seems to get tired just after the midway point to the end. This can be verified by looking at the both of them during the after race press conference. Alonso will be covered in sweat and Lewis will look like he just arrived at the circuit ready to go to work, as you can see by the picture below.

Massa grabbed the obligatory Third for Ferrari, but one has to wonder if they will yank Kimi out in mid season and tell Mike to suit up. You gotta know that Mike still has his drivers suit handy and after seeing him during yesterdays broadcast, one could tell that he was wishing he could be out on the track beating the hell out of the McLaren boys. Kimi had best get it together and fast or he will find himself out of a front line job. Ferrari is not in the habit of paying drivers like Kimi 30 million for shite results.

See you in Montreal on the 10th of June.
