Alonso Only Fooling Himself.

Fernando Alonso has signaled he is ready to up the ante by declaring the title race "starts now". The Spaniard trails Hamilton by ten points in the drivers' championship after being eclipsed in Montreal and Indianapolis. However, the double world champion is adamant that F1's return to Europe, beginning this weekend at Magny-Cours, will prompt a reversal of fortunes.

He said: "I think I'm going to benefit from coming back to Europe.”
"The championship starts now. We have done just seven races and now I'm more comfortable and full of confidence."

First off Slacklonso you will not benefit, you will only start to settle into your role as Lewis’ #2 (hey, ya gotta love the double meaning) Secondly, the Championship doesn’t start this weekend in France, it started a way back in March in a place called Australia. You obviously think pretty highly of yourself to be making the comments above as well as other comments these past few weeks through out the press. Basically I think you are trying to communicate to everybody out there that you are so good that you can afford to dust off an entire half season before you really start to try. My friend, you are not that good, never were, never will be.

Let me just say that if it takes you half a season to get comfortable in the team, then you are not really on the sharp end are you? It doesn’t matter how much confidence you can muster. Think about that while you enjoy your DNF this weekend.
Ciao
