BUSH TO USE VETO POWER...

The following excerpt is from AP.

“WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush, standing firmly against a timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq, said Tuesday that he will veto the latest war spending bill approved by Congress.”

Well, after the House and Senate Democratic appropriators agreed on Monday to give the Iraq war another $124 billion to waste on the condition that the troops would begin leaving by Oct. 1 with the goal of completing the pullout six months later, Georgey boy decides that’s not good enough for him or his agenda.
The Democrats will need a two-thirds majority vote to quash Bush and his veto, it would be nice if they could get it too. Then all those remaining soldiers over there will be home by next April.
Ya know George, your starting to remind me a lot of President Lyndon Johnson, who ordered troop escalations in Vietnam in an attempt "to save his political legacy" only to watch U.S. casualties climb steadily.
Smarten up will ya.

Massa Takes Bahrain Without A Problem

Felipe Massa took the Bahrain Grand Prix without a problem on Sunday as his Ferrari was dialed in properly this time round and no one else could match the speed. An excellent result if I do say so myself.

Elsewhere, the fairytale start to Lewis Hamilton’s Formula One career continued. His second place made him the first driver in history to finish his first three Grands Prix on the podium. Not only that, he also took the joint lead in the drivers’ championship standings. Well done Lewis, as always.

And where was Slacklonso you ask? Why he was mulling around in fifth place with lack of grip, right where he should be. I seriously hope that Mr. Dennis will now throw the whole team effort behind Hamilton in his bid for the world championship as he is tied for the lead and is CLEARLY OUTCLASSING his teammate. In the European papers today Jackie Stewart was quoted as saying that Lewis could easily win the championship this year. While I think that might be a tad aggressive, I still maintain that he will win races this year. Well, it’s almost a full month until the next race so enjoy the break and I’ll see you all in Spain on May 13th.

Ciao

ALONSO WINS MALAYSIA - But Hamilton is again the true star of the show.

Fernando Alonso won the Malaysian Grand Prix yesterday without so much as a single mistake, thanks mainly to one F. Massa screwing it for Ferrari at the first corner. Way to go Felipe.
The real star of the race was without a doubt Lewis Hamilton who finished a brilliant second after withstanding serious pressure from Massa for the first quarter of the race. I love the way he suckered Massa into over braking and running his Ferrari off the road, a sweet move for sure and one that only comes with maturity. Which is to say that Hamilton is a racer tried and true with plenty of maturity to go around.

I will assume Massa has been dressed down quite severely for his mistakes and with any luck, we will see Mike back next year after they ask Massa to leave.

Was also a little disappointed with Kimi. It seemed as though he kind of gave up trying to catch Lewis until right near the end. Not something you would expect from a driver who is earning 5 times what his team mate earns.

It was also nice to hear the announcers saying things like " If Mike was racing today he would be doing...etc. etc." which says to me that already Two races into the new season he is sorely missed and that the racing is a little lackluster to say the least...save for Mr. Hamilton who provides great entertainment every race, for the entire race. Well done Lewis.

See you all in Bahrain on the 15th.

Ciao
